OUR MISSION
Our mission is to connect human hearts through acts of gratitude and service. While it may seem like small acts of kindness are insignificant, the effects ripple and their impact is MASSIVE. For example, the actions of one man -- Hannes Pieters -- inspired us to come together & contribute our efforts towards a more compassionate and just world for all, and now we share that same opportunity with you.
We have strong ties to Nkomazi, an impoverished region in southern Africa, thanks to a long standing friendship with Hannes, who has lived there for over 15 years. During this time Hannes has worked tirelessly to support the sick, malnourished and dying, engaged in the the type of direct human relief for which Mother Theresa was known for in India. We were so impressed by Hannes’ dedication that we felt compelled to join together and support his beautiful work in any way we could. And thus, The Gratitude Project was born.
Nkomazi has one of the highest rates of Child-Headed Households in the world, along with a host of other health, socioeconomic and infrastructure challenges. We were shocked to learn that what would be considered young children in most developed nations are often in charge of entire households in Nkomazi. As such we decided to band together to support these brave young souls, as we believe that no one – especially not a young child – should have to stand alone in the face of a life-critical situation.
The Gratitude Project works in conjunction with Room Five Charity Foundation Inc, a registered 501(c)3 (www.roomfivecharity.org).
MEET THE TEAM
Meet the Gratitude Project team
The Gratitude Project was founded by a concerned group of friends, with big hearts, who came together to support a cause that touched our hearts deeply. We believe that small acts of kindness and love make a huge impact to shape the type of world we want to live in, and that we all have important contributions to make in that regard.
The Gratitude Project is 100% volunteer based, with 100% of funds going directly to the charity
Please write to us at info@GratitudeInAction.org if you'd like more information about how you can join our cause and become a part of The Gratitude Project family.
